SO YOU WANT A JOB AS A TEEN?

So what is the difference with those who get hired vs those who don’t? There are a few things you need to understand.

1. Not everyone is going to get hired. There are hundreds of applicants for most local positions. Naturally, a select few will get an interview, and from there, an even smaller percentage will actually get the role. Which brings me to my next point.

2. You can’t only apply to 3-5 openings and expect to be hired. The economy is in a tough spot, and nowadays these entry-level jobs aren’t even just for students… you’re competing with adults who may need an extra source of income as well. You may need to apply to 30-40 job postings before getting an interview.

3. Don’t only rely on applying online. Yes, we created Jobify to make this process easier for our users, but the truth is… some old-school hiring managers will still want to test how “hungry” you are. Meaning they want to see if you’re willing to show initiative and outwork your competitors. Some users have looked on the platform for openings, then walked in to those locations and asked for the hiring manager. And then handed them a physical copy of their resume while introducing themselves.

4. Conduct yourself like a professional. The little things matter. Make eye contact when you meet hiring managers. Shake their hand firmly. Wear a clean shirt with clean shoes, jeans, etc. People’s first impression of you is important in all aspects of life.

APPLY TO BE AN AMBASSADOR

Student ambassadors will have the opportunity to earn up $1000 for successful referrals.

These are the main responsibilities:

1. Introduce the team to your guidance counselor for them to consider using Pathwai at their school. Successful deals being closed will lead to you being paid a commission.

2. Get your classmates to consider using a Pathwai Tutor for any subjects they’re struggling with. A 20% commission will be given to you for as long as they are a customer.
